About

Blood Orange AKA Devyn Hynes

The polymath musician is a whole new model of artist, daubing his signature sensibility over music, film, dance and everything else he touches.

Devonté Hynes (born David Joseph Michael Hynes,[4] 23 December 1985), also known as Blood Orange and formerly Lightspeed Champion, is an English singer, songwriter, record producer and director based in New York City.

From 2004 to 2006, Hynes was a member of the band Test Icicles, playing guitar, synth, and occasionally performing vocals. They released one full-length album in 2005. Hynes went on to release two solo studio albums as Lightspeed Champion and subsequently five more as Blood Orange, between 2008 and 2019.

Feature

Collaboration

Dev Hynes / Blood Orange has released his first new music since 2019. The EP, titled Four Songs, was written and produced by Hynes himself, and features collaborations with Ian Isaiah, Eva Tolkin and Erika de Casier. I'll leave you to guess how many songs it has.

Throughout the 2010s, Hynes established himself as one of the most acclaimed songwriters and sought-after producers in the music industry. Alongside his own albums, he has produced tracks for an impressive array of stars, including Sky Ferreira (he produced her breakout hit “Everything is Embarrassing”), Solange, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kylie Monogue and FKA Twigs.
